Spent the past year hitting the convention scene and working on some new pieces. For the time being, enjoy some custom lightsabers over in the Cinema section of the Prop gallery:

Longshot Pump Grip Restock
Just writing up a note about the current lack of Longshot Pump Grips. I lost some of the equipment needed to manufacture these pieces, but I’ll finally be able to have a replacement on-hand mid-April. I should be stocking new grips before the end of the month.
Convention Props!
Earlier this month, I swung by the Sun Coast CGA show to hang out with some of the local cosplay community. The week before was spent prepping a few swords to take with my, and the night before I threw together a (pretty bad) costume.
Aside from the already completed Kingdom Key, I brought along the Buster Sword and a quick-build SOLDIER Sword. The paint on the new pieces was rushed and needs reworking, but that didn’t stop folks at the con from posing for pics! Images after the break.
Shop Update for the New Year
A new year means new projects! I picked up some new equipment in December, and I’m now able to offer custom decals. Visit the new Decals section of the shop to see what’s available. As of this writing, I’ve completed designs for some Assassin’s Creed themed decals, but I’ll be adding other designs all month long.
NERF Longshot Pump Grips
I’ve been prototyping pump grips for a number of blasters, and the first one that’s ready for prime time is the Longshot grip.
The grip is designed to install without any permanent modifications to the blaster shell. You only need to unscrew the bipod legs.
After the initial prototype, the design was refined. A more malleable metal with a clean white coating was selected to ease production and give a better finish. The gripped area was changed from a single curve to several 45 degree bends to ensure a more consistent end product in future reproductions. Unnecessary sharp corners were removed from the design.

This angle shows off the new angled grip, rather than the singular curve of the prototype.
The plan is to start making these available for sale this week. Pricing should start around $30 for the base grip, with add-ons such as a rubberized grip or customized graphics available for a surcharge.

Stay tuned! I’ve a number of new prop updates to be posted this month!
Prop Gallery Updates 11-30-2013
The last couple of weeks have been busy! The OMW Recon and AC3 Hidden Blade were completed and their galleries added to the site. I just received delivery confirmation that the Recon arrived at Orange Mod Works HQ, so I’m looking forward to hearing from them on Monday.
With two of my biggest projects wrapped up, I’ve more time for the rest. Most of the Thanksgiving holiday was spent cleaning the Buster Sword sculpt before the next coat of paint. I’ve also been prepping designs for a number of other projects.
Is there anything you’d like to see? Sound off in the comments!

Anyone keeping up with the social sites have already seen the completed images of this project. Right after completing this project, I came down with a nasty infection (Darn those Daleks!) that kept me out of the workshop for a few weeks, and then convention season hit, so I’ve been working non-stop on a number of projects. Things have finally settled down, so I’m preparing lots of nifty write-ups in the coming weeks.
This was done up as a gift for a local Who fan. A few decent replicas were readily available, and I was given a tight deadline, so scratch-building wasn’t even in consideration here.
