Weekend Prop Progress: 10/07/2013
Internet troubles have kept me from updating, but I’ve kept my nose to the grindstone and nearly wrapped up a number of projects! Weather’s kept me from bringing the Buster Sword out for body work, but there was still plenty to do inside. The Orange Mod Works Concept Recon enters the home stretch, and I tinker with a number of Hidden Blade designs.

Howdy! When I’ve not got a finished prop to show off, I’d prefer to keep this site up to date with progress on current projects. Get ready for a lengthy post, as there’s lots of time to make up! This week I’m covering details on the OMW Concept Recon, a full-scale, full-metal Buster Sword, and a gravity Hidden Blade based on Connor’s swivel blade in Assassin’s Creed III.

Anyone keeping up with the social sites have already seen the completed images of this project. Right after completing this project, I came down with a nasty infection (Darn those Daleks!) that kept me out of the workshop for a few weeks, and then convention season hit, so I’ve been working non-stop on a number of projects. Things have finally settled down, so I’m preparing lots of nifty write-ups in the coming weeks.
This was done up as a gift for a local Who fan. A few decent replicas were readily available, and I was given a tight deadline, so scratch-building wasn’t even in consideration here.
If the Sonic Screwdriver actually looked this nice out of the package, I would’ve saved myself a lot of trouble.
New Office, ModiBot BuildLab, and a Near-Complete OMW Recon

First off, I need to apologize for the silence. February was spent hunting down new living quarters. March and April were spent furnishing the new office. Things finally settled down in May, and production picked up! Things’re moving forward steadily! Find out about the new ModiBot BuildLab and see the latest images of the OMW Recon after the jump!

In commemoration of the promotional relationship I’ve earned with Orange Mod Works, I’ve begun work replicating the Concept Artwork OMW published to their Facebook page.
